Tegan: I’m so out of breath. Are you out of breath?
Sara: No
Tegan: Oh you look out of breath. It’s a terrible timing, this feels like something we should say at the end of the show… I must be out of breath. I was having this moment during the last song, I don’t know. It maybe happened to me once or twice… Oh sorry Sara said to talk louder. This only happened one other time and I feel very emotional, I feel like I could cry. I feel like I have to get myself together because we’ve been putting out this mailbox and everybody’s been writing us letters and it’s just [chokes up]
Sara: Oh My God, are you getting your period?
Tegan: I must be, but…
Sara: It’s true. I’ll say it. Do you want me to say it? Tegan’s very upset because we have been putting out this mailbox and we’ve been collecting letters in every city and it’s sort of overwhelming because obviously through out our career people have told us stories about how they found our music or why they like our music or why they hate our music but they still come to our show or whatever. People tell us all sorts of things. But it’s been sooo significant on this album to hear the stories that you guys tell us and the letters that you’re leaving at the mailbox; we just sit backstage and read them. That’s all we do. It’s crazy. It’s sort of hard to put in words right now because I think that we’re starting to realize that we thought you guys were sort of what kept us going but maybe there is a bit of this kind of realization that I know we’ve been important to YOU and it’s sort of… it’s weird because I think we- people say it. People will say “Oh My God, I loved you in high school” or whatever. But I don’t think that we had really taken into consideration like how important… Like being Out and being Gay and all of those kinds of things that we really were. And even if we were significant to you not because we were gay or whatever. But we’ve been sitting backstage-
Tegan: Maybe it’s just our haircuts, I don’t know.
Sara: - I mean it doesn’t matter. The point is that it has been very emotional for us. We’ve been reading these letters and it’s just- Thank you so much for the stuff that you guys give us. That is really so important to us. We really appreciate it.
this just shows how truly incredible these women really are.
